For the last few years news reports about violence, extremism, mistreatment of minorities, and poor governance have been become more frequent. And there is a sense of gloom and doom about the nation’s future among Pakistani peace activists and civil society members.

Everything was planned and we were supposed to meet finally after six years of Orkut, MSN and Facebook connection. I was sitting in the Berlin metro line looking at the map of the city and the piece of paper where I chalked out the route to his home. He calls and tells me that he is waiting at the metro station. I get down at the said station and look around for him, I cannot find him, I try to call him up, I hear someone calls my name and turn around … I see him… it was like little fraction of Euphoria.

On the escalator leading out of the station he says to me, “so from a facebook picture to a real person.”  I don’t know whether I was mesmerized or lost I could just say “yeah”.
